Southern Water Hook Road water main project - meeting at Ampfield Village Hall

The current cast iron water pipes, which date back to the 1930s, are beginning to show signs of wear and tear, despite regular maintenance.
These older pipes will be replaced by new plastic pipes which will reduce the risk of bursts, leaks, water discolouration and interruptions to your water supply.

What happens next?
The project will involve laying approximately 2.3km of new water main along Hook Road into Hocombe Road and Nutburn Road. It is a major project that will be completed in a number of phases over a period of about 6 months.
We anticipate starting work at the end of October 2025.

Come and meet the team to find more about the work we will be doing.
Where: Ampfield Village Hall on Morleys Lane, Ampfield, SO51 9BJ
When: 3:30pm to 6pm on Monday 13th October 2025
Parking: There is free parking at the venue. Additional parking is also available at the Village
Green.
